Knowing When Your Bra Fits Just Right

The vast majority wear a bra that is the wrong size for their body. Given this fact, most women aren't entirely sure what a bra that fits well should feel like. In this article, we provide an answer to that question.

To find the perfect fit in a bra, it is first important to understand the basic function of a bra. Anything with straps suggests a support via hanging component. This is actually incorrect when it comes to bras. A bra should provide roughly 80 percent of the support from the band circling around the bottom of the bra. Put another way, a bra should be doing more pushing up than hanging when it comes to supporting the breasts.

Overall, a bra that fits perfectly will be comfortable first and foremost. When wearing it, your breasts should be sitting midway between your shoulders and your elbows. The band should be snug around your upper chest and back, but not too constricting. No part of the bra should be leaving red lines or spots.

The band running around the base of the bra is incredibly important. This is where you are going to get the vast majority of your support. Get the band right and you will feel much more comfortable. When buying a bra, start with size that fits on the loosest hook. Now constrict the size so that the band is firmly fit around the body, but not too tight. Your goal is to have the band run parallel to the floor around your body. It should be as high on your chest as it is on your back. A quick way to test the fit is to see if two fingers can fit snugly under the band.

The cup size is our next most important factor. Be honest with your cup sizes. If you are bulging out of the cup, you need to go up a size. If there are gaps between the cups and the breast, you need to go down a size. It is that simple. With underwire bras, you can adjust up or down to make sure the wires don't press into the inside of your breast or arm.

Bra straps are incredibly misunderstood. They are supposed to be supplemental support to your girls, not the primary support. The band serves that purpose. To get the perfect fit, your bra straps should be secure but not tight. If they leave red marks, they are too tight. It is better to have them to loose than too tight, so adjust accordingly.

That is it. Focus on the general concept of support from the bottom up and you should be able to find a bra that is perfect for you.

Plus Size Lingerie - The Perfect Anniversary Gift

Few things can show your partner how much you care about them than remembering your special day. Anniversaries typically mark the day of your marriage or the day of your decision to be together. This special event calls for meticulous preparation: a dozen roses, a large box of chocolates, a candlelit dinner, a rose petal bath, and of course, the perfect day ends with the perfect gift. What gift do you plan on giving your special someone on your next anniversary?

The 1st, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 50th and 75th anniversaries have special names and there is an established traditional gift to give for each of these, increasing in value as the years go along. For instance for the 5th anniversary one conventionally gave a gift made out of wood, or the modern translation of this gift, silverware. There is also an established flower list of which bouquets to give for which years. For the 5th anniversary one gives a bouquet of daisies. These traditions culminate during the grandest celebrated years: the Golden, Emerald, and Diamond Anniversaries, where, as their name states, one gives gold, emeralds, and diamonds, or in flower terms: yellow roses and violets.

Couples traditionally exchange gifts on the eve of their anniversary, with the man getting something for the woman and vice versa. More often than not for the named anniversaries family and friends also chip in with a gift. Each half of the couple gets to receive their own gift, something exclusively for them such as neckties or jewelry. Why not get something that both will definitely enjoy such as lingerie? Plus size lingerie makes the perfect anniversary gift.

What other gift will delight both partners and will add to their satisfaction as a couple? For women lingerie is something of an art form, delicate fabric that drapes around their curves and reveals all that must be revealed. Plus size lingerie in particular is doubly delightful for women as on one hand it accentuates her best assets to be flaunted and on the other hand, it makes her man extremely happy. For men lingerie is even elevated to something of a holy artifact. Few men can remain intelligible when faced with the seductive properties of a baby doll or any other type of plus size lingerie. With all the cuts and styles to choose from, the only dilemma that you may ever have is whether to get one piece or two and the only problem would be waiting for the anniversary night.

Lingerie shops cater to many different sizes, from AA to DDs. Recently even plus sized erotic lingerie can be found on the racks, proving that sexiness discriminates against no one. Very helpful salespersons will also assist any man lost in the world of women's fashion to help him find the perfect lingerie piece.

Whether you're celebrating your anniversary or are a friend of the couple, why not get a gift that will be appreciated and not kept away with the silverware? Plus size lingerie makes the perfect anniversary gift.

The Value of a T-Shirt Bra

Every wardrobe is built from the bottom up. The bottom, of course, refers to the foundation clothing you have. When it comes to undergarments, t-shirt bras certainly should be one of your foundation documents.

Bras are called delicates for a reason. Picture one in your mind and lace, frill and what have you comes to mind. Ah, but what about a real foundation document that is all about comfort, support and creating a subtle undergarment appearance? The t-shirt bra is the answer if you are looking for these aspects.

A t-shirt bra gets its name not because it looks like a t-shirt in any way. Instead, the name comes from the fact this is the one bra that can always be worn with a t-shirt without creating a seen due to how it shows under the shirt. The t-shirt bra is a soft, seamless contoured cup masterpiece. It is also incredibly comfortable and a real winner for any wardrobe.

To truly understand the value of t-shirt bra, just think about the tops you wear. Have you put on a top and then changed because of the way it fits across your bra? You know - those super thin tops that let just about everything show through? How about clingy tops? The t-shirt bra is the answer. You can provide support to the girls without showing it because the bra is all about soft lines and angles. You'll hardly notice it through even the thinnest shirts.

The material used for t-shirt bras is an additional benefit as well. Why? The material is usually a microfiber configuration. Cotton is wonderful, but microfiber is engineered to address certain needs. This means many microfiber t-shirt bras will pull moisture away from your skin when it is hot out. This is another reason they are called t-shirt bras since they tend to minimize or eliminate ugly sweat marks.

Is the t-shirt bra appropriate for every occasion? No. For exercise, go with a full sports bra. For more formal looks, you are probably going to want to wear a specific bra appropriate for the look you are trying to achieve such as a balcony, plunge or other undergarment piece.

If you don't have a t-shirt bra in your undergarment collection, you should get one. It is incredibly comfortable and the perfect bra for day to day living.

Understanding Bra Terminology

The modern bra may seem a fairly simple garment. You have a band, two straps and two cups, right? Yes, but the devil is in the details. A modern bra can actually have upwards of 20 different pieces, which means you need to understand the terminology being used. In this article, we take a look at some terms you might not know.

Gore

What the heck is a "gore"? The gore is the piece that is between the cups and is part of the band. This little strip is important for two reasons. Obviously, the first is it connects the cups between the breasts. The more subtle importance has to do with fit. The gore should be flat against your chest. If it sits off the chest, then the bra band size is too small. Going up a size will make your bra fit better.

Wicking

Wicking is a term used to describe the material used in your bra. Wicking is the act of pulling moisture away from the skin. Certain microfibers used in bras will do this. If you sweat around your girls, this is the perfect material. Ask for microfiber bras that wick and you'll be much more comfortable, particularly as we run into summer.

Wings

Bras have wings? Oh, yes. Wings are the area of the bra that run from the outer edge of the cups around your body to the middle of the back. The wings are usually a firm elastic material. Why are they important? The secure the bra, but they also are a good way to determine how the bra is performing. When the bra starts to wear, the wings will stretch and start to show fraying. That's when you know it is time to replace the bra.

Slings

If your breasts become sore easily, you need to consider the prospect of wearing bras with slings. Despite the name, slings actually ride along the inside of the cup of the bra and provide tremendous support in the lower cups... They may sound like push up bras, but there is minimal push up impact. Instead, it is just a bra with tremendous comfort and massive support. Short of a sport bra, the sling bra is one of the most comfortable you can wear.

Finding the perfect bra can be difficult. Understanding the terminology involved is half the battle. Educate yourself and you stand a great chance of finding a bra that is close to a perfect fit for your bra type.
